The virtual fitness space has been bustling with activity in the first quarter of 2021. Data compiled by Sensor Tower reveals how the top iOS virtual fitness applications have performed in Europe. Here’s a look at the numbers that shaped their performance.

Strava: Run, Bike, Hike saw a fluctuating trend in downloads, peaking at 185K in the first week of January and then gradually declining to 112K by the end of March. Revenues for Strava started at approximately $313K in the last week of December and saw an increase to $324K in the first week of February, followed by fluctuations with a notable peak at $368K in late February. Weekly active users showed a consistent upward trend, from 1.96M at the end of December to 2.28M by the end of March.

Zwift: Ride and Run experienced a decrease in downloads, starting from 9.7K in the last week of December and dwindling to 2.9K by the end of March. Revenue depicted a more stable pattern, commencing at $224K and reaching a high of $272K in late February. Active users showed a slight decline from around 43K to 34K in the same period.

For Courtney Black Fitness, downloads saw a peak at 6.1K in the first week of January, followed by a decrease to 2.3K at the end of March. Revenue for the app showed an initial increase from $163K to $278K in mid-January, before experiencing fluctuations and settling at $173K by the end of March.

Freeletics: Workouts & Fitness downloads peaked at 39.7K in the first week of January, with a subsequent decline to 12.3K by the end of March. Revenue started at $229K and experienced fluctuations, dipping to $118K in mid-February, then rising to $147K by the end of March. Active users decreased from 279K to 210K throughout the quarter.

Asana Rebel: Get in Shape saw a sharp decline in downloads from 65.8K in the first week of January to 15.8K at the end of March. Revenue began at $269K, dropped to $61.8K in late February, and then increased to $121.7K by the end of March. Active users decreased from 160K to 84.2K during the quarter.
